we work closely with the following major development stakeholders

KCBRP

KCBRP as Strategic partner Organization of Lilian Foundation provides means and strategies for Child development by funding all Community Based Rehabilitation domains which make child development project possible. Child empowerment program in Sengerema for the past many years has been supported financially by KCBRP.

TEACHERS

They are the source of basic education which rehabilitates the child from the beginning.
They provide psychotherapy which changes CwDs enabling them skills for communicating with the community.
Counseling parents of CwDs on how to handle them especially their hygiene and health in general among others

PARENTS

They implement counseling given by teachers of CwDs during family visits.
Parents play a big role in changing CwDs given that they take care of advices they are given by teachers of CYWDs.
They take care of their CwDs from the time they are born.
They participate in Individual rehabilitation plan of CWD

WEO & VEO

Mobilize parents of the CYWDs for school enrolment.
Collaborate with NGOs in their area of administration and all parts associated with people with disabilities to create awareness on importance of participation in planning, policy and decision making for development of CwDs.

SENGEREMA DC HOSPITAL

Provide treatment and medication for CYWDS for those who hold CHF Insurance.
They make health assessment of CYWDs to determine type of disability
especially before they are enrolled for special education.

CENTRAL GOVERNMENT

Integrate disability education into schools (Inclusive secondary School) Ensure all educational institutes develop inclusive policies on child protection to ensure the prevention of violence, abuse, neglect and discrimination of children/persons with disabilities.

We, the founder members of Action on the Welfare of people with disabilities (AWPD) understand that our country is confronted with challenges of increasing number of vulnerable and people with disabilities and recognize the role of the citizen in supporting government efforts in reducing such problems in the society.

OUR ACTIVITIES:

AWPD serves people with disabilities in three different projects: Child empowerment, Youth empowerment and Women empowerment. Our principles in serving people with disabilities includes: participation, inclusion , self-advocacy, equal opportunity, accessibility and sustainability.
